Bishop McGuinness’ Clancy’s Challenge Trivia Night a great success
Over 400 people turned out for the fourth annual Bishop McGuinness Clancy’s Challenge Trivia Night on Saturday, August 22nd in the McGuinness Commons. The Peace, Love and Happiness themed event was hosted by the BMCHS Alumni Association but open to anyone. The committee consisted of Chairwoman Lisa Corsoro Rooks ’89, Bill Tunell ‘88, Allison Gober Abbott ‘03, Matt Cooper ‘92, Louis Gasbarra ’96 and Ed Roy ‘91.
Acting as the emcee for the evening was McGuinness alum Brent Skarky ’93.
As tables of ten competed against each other during eight rounds of questions, a group from Tulsa Bishop Kelley led the way. It was not until the final round of questions that the winner would be decided. The final round consisted of audio musical clips with teams trying to identify both the title as well as the artist.
Pulling out the win was a team called the Watpigs. Team members included Steve and Dana Orwig, H.L. and Kyle Watson, Ben and Aimee Hanneman ‘89, Grace and Jaron Hill and Rosemary and Chris Rodgers. All proceeds from Trivia Night go to the Bishop McGuinness Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Winners will have their name engraved on the traveling shillelagh trophy, which is passed from winner to winner each year. The trophy entitles the winning group to complimentary prime seating at next year’s event plus bragging rights for the year.
