Athletics
Whether you are a participant or a spectator, athletic activities are an integral part of the total high school experience at Bishop McGuinness. Being on a team and learning to be part of a team effort, can build relationships that will last a lifetime. The benefits of athletics carry over into the classroom and on through one’s entire life. Too many times, a season is judged by the wins and losses. We all love to win, but true success should be judged by the experiences, friendships, and fellowship that competition provides.
At Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, we strive for success and we have experienced many victories. The success is due to having high expectations and following through on the winning traditions set before us. We have some exceptional athletes, but our championships have come from the total contribution of all team members. We believe in and stress the “team concept” to our athletes. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and a team is the same way. All participants must play at their best and be the best they can be to achieve success.
Another factor in our success is the wonderful fan and parental support we have here at Bishop McGuinness. Our fan attendance is unmatched by any other school for support. Parents, alumni, friends, and ‘future’ patrons, all come to support and root for the Irish. This enthusiasm is really appreciated by our students, coaches, and the administration. We encourage you to continue to support the Irish and to do so in a positive manner.
