Homecoming Cookout - Basketball Homecoming February 5, 2013

Twice a year, before the Football and Basketball Homecoming games, the Alumni Association sponsors a family oriented cookout. A trailer-sized cooker is brought in and 2-3 guys man the fire. Tables are set up, drinks are set out and everyone enjoys hamburgers and hotdogs from the grill. This is a free event to bring Alumni and their families together to share the fellowship of others.

Career Day
Bishop McGuinness Career Day is sponsored each fall semester by the Alumni Association’s Networking Committee. The goal of the day is to compile a diverse, meaningful and entertaining program that would benefit the leaders of tomorrow. Career Day is designed to give McGuinness’ seniors practical advice on career paths in which they may be interested upon the completion of their studies. Over twenty McGuinness alumni with diverse professional backgrounds participate every year, giving presentations on their particular areas of expertise. These encompass public service, business, entrepreneurship, the arts, and a wide range of professional practices. In addition, a dozen or more local businesses exhibit at the event, many offering summer employment opportunities for McGuinness seniors. The Keynote speaker for the event in 2008 was Mr. Burns Hargis, President of Oklahoma State University and in 2009, Mr. Mike Turpen spoke to the group. Any McGuinness alum interested in presenting at the event are welcome to contact the Board.
