CAMINO
Supports spiritual growth through school and community service
The Campus Ministry Organization (CAMINO, Spanish for “The Way”) works to bring Christian faith and spirituality into all areas of life at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School.
The group's name was taken from the scripture, "I am the way and the truth and the life," John 14:6. CAMINO encourages students to explore their faith and develop their spiritual relationship with God. It is made up of all students, faculty, staff and parents of the school. Everyone is welcome to participate in all activities sponsored by the organization; there are no dues.
Through extra-curricular involvement in spiritual, social and service activities, CAMINO builds up the Church at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. CAMINO is ecumenical in membership but Catholic in practice. CAMINO has an elected executive board and appointed members-at-large from each class.
All students in all grade levels participate in leadership roles by hosting the daily Mass and prayer activities, serving as lectors, cantors, servers, greeters, ushers and gift bearers. Special training is available for students interested in serving, reading and singing each semester. Students may be commissioned Eucharistic ministers by the Archbishop their senior year.
