Gospel Value - COURAGE
Our Gospel Value for the 2012-13 school year is COURAGE. Why Courage? We believe, as a Catholic high school, that in order to be a person for others, we need to have courage to stand firm in our faith, stand up for what is right, choose the right path, and be oneself. One of the challenges of human nature is being courageous in the face of challenge, defeat, and even victory. It has been said that "true courage is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to proceed in spite of it" (Anonymous). When you meet a student, faculty, or staff member from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, we pray that you see Christ through the way they show COURAGE in the face of fear, pressure, challenge, and victory and that their actions show the love and strength of God living through us.
"Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong. Your every act should be done with love." -1 Corinthians 16:13-14
