Hello, we just finished Catholic Schools Week (more photos coming) !
St. John Paul the Great said this about Catholic Education: ” Catholic Education aims not only to communicate facts but also to transmit a coherent, comprehensive vision of life, in the conviction that the truths contained in that vision liberate students in the most profound meaning of human freedom.”
In 1950, Bishop Eugene McGuinness opened the doors of Central Catholic High, with the determination that the people of Oklahoma City and surrounding area would have an opportunity to know this vision. In 1959 Central High was renamed Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, and in 1995 the student-body chose Bl. Pier Giorgio as the school’s patron.
Through his intercession, the guidance of exceptional administration, the support of countless families, the love of faculty and staff, and the energy of our many students Bishop McGuinness is still sharing a ‘vision of life’ that brings our students into the life of Christ. We are and always will be CATHOLIC!
Check out this video, produced by our senior Vocations and Leadership class, in honor of our Teachers!
