Students are encouraged to experience a day in the life of a Bishop McGuinness by shadowing a current student. Students will be paired with a friend or student who shares similar interests for the entire school day or half a school day.

Please email Mossis Madu, Student Cultivation Counselor, to schedule your students Shadow Day.

The STS placement test covers mathematics and English concepts. The test is approximately 3.5 hours long, is free of charge, and is administered several times each fall.

If you have extenuating circumstances and need to request a different test date, please contact Dr. Andrew Worthington.

Mean Green Fling is a student-run activity that takes place one evening in August before school begins.

It is a night for incoming freshmen to meet their classmates through fun games and various activities – hosted by Clancy Club and Student Council.

School uniforms are available through OkiePrint and through Lands End (use school number 900148263). You can also visit Clancy's Closet, our school store, located in the front entrance. It is open from 7:30-3:30 Monday-Friday for a limited number of items.

During the summer, we host the Used Uniform Sale. Items are first-come, first-served.

The best way to get involved in a sport is to contact Mr. John Hamilton, athletic director. Some sports begin practicing during the summer months so pay attention to announcements, emails, and mailings.

Often the best thing is to come to school prepared with a notebook, pencils, pens, highlighters, calculators, etc. However, some teachers will give specific instructions for their class during Freshman Orientation.

A parent can contact a teacher by email at any time, or through Powerschool. Teachers do not have access to a phone during the school day so it is best to begin with an email.

Our average score is 23.6 – the national average is 19.4.

We recommend that students take the ACT by the second semester of their junior year, or upon completion of Algebra 2.
