March 27 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm — OPTIONAL Cheer Tryout Workshop (in the cheer room)

March 27 at 7:30 pm — MANDATORY Cheerleader/Parent Meeting (in the auditorium)

April 3 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm — Cheer Clinic (in the cheer room)

April 5 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm — Cheer Mock Tryouts (in the cheer room)

April 8 starting at 2:00 pm — Cheer Tryouts (in the cheer room)

Note: You must attend all four events to be eligible for the team.

April 10 at 6:30 pm — MANDATORY follow-up parent/cheerleader meeting for 2018–2019 team members (in auditorium)

Individual Cheer


Skills that will be involved

3-jump combo (connected by a whip or a clap)
Running Tumbling Pass (on the mat)
Standing Back Handspring, Standing Tuck, or Standing Full
Double Toe-Touch, Toe-Touch Back Handspring, or Toe-Touch Back Tuck (one of these will be in your cheer, whichever you are capable of doing)

Note: Please do not worry if you cannot perform all these skills. These are just options for you to consider; they may serve as goals for you to achieve in the future.

May 31 through June 2: Camp dates (confirmed)
June 3 through July 15: Summer break (confirmed)
July 16: State Team practices begin (if your student makes the State Team, attendance is mandatory)
July 30 through August 3: Work week (tentative; attendance mandatory for all team members)
