Director of Instructional Technology and Media Center
Bekah is a former middle school technology teacher who is currently working as Director of Instructional Technology and the Media Center for Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. She came to Bishop McGuinness in 2013 to begin the 1:1 iPad initiative where every teacher and student uses the iPad for class work, and 90% of textbooks are on the iPad. Bekah is also the Director of the library. In 2015 she updated the library to accommodate learning spaces and include more eBooks. Prior to work with Bishop McGuinness Bekah worked for the K20 as a technology field specialist on the Norman Public Schools Intelligent Classroom initiative. She is an avid technology consumer and has a passion for technology integration. Bekah provides ongoing support for teachers through professional development. She previously worked as a graduate research assistant at The University of Oklahoma where I obtained a master’s degree in educational psychology and instructional technology with an emphasis of teaching with technology. Due to her background in technology Bekah has a deep interest and passion in Digital Citizenship and helping students and teachers to be informed about appropriate and ethical behavior online. Bekah was recently named a member of the 2015 class of Apple Distinguished Educators.
