Retreats
Class Retreats
Class Retreats are held throughout each year during the school day. Students participate in a variety of activities during the day designed to bring them closer to God. as well as a class. Each retreat has a specific theme and focus, and are planned by the senior Spiritual Leadership and Development class.
Senior and sophomore retreats take place in the fall semester, and junior and freshman retreats in the spring semester.
Kairos
Live the Fourth! Kairos retreats are unforgettable experiences designed to help students encounter Christ in a way they may never have before. Through talks, activities and time together, we explore how lovable each person is, their intrinsic worth and how to live life as a child of God.
The weekend helps students realistically balance their relationships with God and incorporate Him into their everyday lives. Kairos is a journey of the heart, mind and soul that we take together where we learn from each other.
Led by senior students and faculty members, Kairos retreats are 4-day retreats (Thursday afternoon thru Sunday), held four times each year – two for the boys, two for the girls, one in each semester.
Peru Mission Trip
Each summer a group of students, parents and faculty travel to Piura, Peru, and the parish of Santisimo Sacramento – the home parish of Fr. Joe Uhen ‘76.
Bishop McGuinness has participated in the service mission trip for about 20 years, and we built the first classroom at Madre del Buen Consejo school. Throughout the week missionaries are engaged in activities such as building houses, delivering food packages to remote villages, teaching in local schools, assisting farmers, visiting the orphanage and anything else is asked of us.
The trip includes a day tour of Lima with a visit to the shrine of St. Rose of Lima, among other sites. Information on the trip is typically sent out in September and the trip is at the beginning of the summer.
Please feel free to contact Ms. Kelly Allen, campus minister, if you have any other questions!
