Campus Ministry Blog

Hello, we’ve had a busy three weeks, going back to the start of February. We wrapped up Catholic Schools Week, Rose Day, Boy’s and Girl’s Kairos, All-School Mass, and had a successful Junior Retreat!

The best part of working in ministry here at BMCHS, is everyday there are people looking to know God. Our students, faculty, staff, parents, and alums create a dynamic community, that is alive in Spirit of God. His life and love are the pulse that drives our day to day, even when it is hard to see His grace.

This past Wednesday we took our entire Junior class out to camp OLOGall 200, for their Jr. class retreat!

If you are a parent of one of these Juniors or a parent of one of my Senior peer ministry students, be very proud!

We were blessed with great weather and an outstanding environment to focus on “Taking off the Mask”. Seniors lead small groups, keynote talks, and shared their “faith witness” stories. Juniors were encouraged to “tear up” their greatest regrets and let the “the real person” inside start to show. The focus of the retreat was to build fellowship in the class, by encouraging them to recognize their true potential going into next year.

We celebrated Mass together, ate some outstanding  sub sandwiches, and finished with a small group dance off. In all, mission accomplished.

Special thanks to Fr. Carson, and the faculty members that attended: Brandi Kelley, David Hughes, Rebecca Damron-Whitehead, Nicky Goff, Rebecca Staats, Scott Stevenson, Adam Sermersheim, Justin Jones, and Michael Chavez.
