The purpose of the Academic Team is to enhance the learning and intellectual pursuit of BMCHS students through academic competition. Any student is welcome to participate in practices. Since Academic Team is an OSSAA sanctioned competitive activity, only students who are academically eligible and have the required Christian service hours may compete in tournaments. Underclassmen should consider joining since most years the team has at least one 9 th or 10th grade student on the Varsity team.

The purpose of the BMCHS Ambassador program is to promote the spiritual, academic, athletic and overall student life of the school to prospective students and campus visitors. Members of the BMCHS Ambassadors are sophomore through senior students who complete an application and a training process. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required with no F or D received in the previous semester. Three letters of recommendation are required, an initial interview and Leadership training.

The objective of Big Sis Lil’ Sis is to provide female mentorship for all incoming freshmen girls. It is the duty of our selected upperclassmen ladies to provide support, advocacy, and positive role modeling for the young BMCHS women so that they may live out the school mission of developing the whole person that will in turn, become a person for others.

Book Club is an opportunity for devoted readers to explore texts outside of English class. Texts are chosen by club members and reflect a variety of text types (short stories, poetry, novels) and genres (romance, sci fi, mystery, graphic novels, and more). Book Club meets monthly, after school, in Ms. Wagner's room.

This activity provides an opportunity for students to improve their bowling techniques and engage in friendly competition. Meets against area high schools are organized by the Oklahoma High School Bowling Association and are held on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. Practice is after school on Thursdays. All equipment is provided for the student courtesy of the bowling center and corporate sponsors.

The Case Closed Club is a student-led organization that is designed to provide entertainment using mystery games for its members which enhances our overall logic and problem solving skills. Our club meets a few times a year and we play a game every time we meet unless it is a service event! Our goals are to create a community of authentic friendship, and find ways to provide service to the greater Oklahoma City community.

Camino can be translated as “the way” in Spanish. In John 14:6, Jesus states, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” The purpose of this organization is to encourage students to explore their faith and develop their spiritual relationship with God. CAMINO provides leadership opportunities, creative expression, and spiritual inspiration through authentic sharing of faith.

Dance Visions is a pre-professional dance company training in styles such as jazz, hip hop, tap, ballet, and many more. They meet twice a week for rehearsals and hold auditions at the end of the spring semester. Company members get many opportunities to perform, learn from professional guest choreographers, attend master classes, and compete in dance competitions.

The purpose of the Diversity Club is to celebrate the diverse student population at BMCHS, provide cultural awareness to the students and faculty, advocate for the voices of minority and diverse groups of students throughout the school, and overall, empower all individuals.

eSports, or competitive video gaming, is where skilled players form teams and battle it out across a variety of video games in official OSSAA competitions. Just like in traditional sports, our eSports athletes train, develop strategies, and showcase their talents in thrilling competitions against other schools in the OSSAA. Students must be academically eligible and have the required Christian service hours to compete.

The Economics Club is a student-centered educational organization ideal for those interested in developing a better understanding for the reality economics plays in business, public policy, and government. Students will learn how a free market economy functions in society and will address important economic issues through field trips, club meetings and guest speakers.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes works to further integrate athletics and faith life through activities on and off campus. The club hosts multiple fields of faith events at various games, student-led devotionals, and small faith groups. FCA is in charge of Irish Alley for the Memorial Marathon and the Dodgeball fundraising tournament during Olympics week.

This organization was formed to promote the visual arts. Members may be freshmen through seniors interested in learning more about the production and understanding of the visual fine arts. Members will attend scheduled monthly club meetings involving workshops, artist demonstrations, and museum visits.

The BMCHS French Club is open to all students interested in French life and French-speaking cultures. Our various activities include cultural activities, participation with the Alliance Francaise d'Oklahoma City, fun and games, tastes of French Cuisine, crafts, finding global connections, and establishing a sense of community central to the French language.

La Société Honoraire de Français recognizes outstanding scholarship in the study of French language.  The chapter provides a vehicle for focusing activities around French language and culture. Candidates must have maintained an A- (90) average or higher in French throughout their study, grades of B- (80) or higher in all other subjects, and be active participants in the BMCHS French club.  The chapter provides a vehicle for focusing activities around French language and culture. Members demonstrate citizenship through service learning, and officers develop their leadership skills through organizing  events. Members receive a special certificate and seal and an official pin of the honor society; in addition, graduates have the option of wearing a tri-colored cord or stole at graduation.

The purpose of the Gaming Club is to provide students with opportunities for fun and fellowship through game play. Most meetings occur during the evenings and involve video games of various systems along with tabletop gaming.

The mission of Irish 4 Life is to establish an active, positive pro-life culture among the members of our community. We hope to achieve this by educating on all life issues and by actively promoting the right to a dignified life for all persons from conception to natural death.

Irish Outreach is a student-led and driven service initiative that is dedicated to improving the wellbeing of the surrounding community and encouraging each student member to be a person for others.

National Junior Classical League (NJCL) is an organization that promotes the study of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and an appreciation of the debt that our culture owes to antiquity. With more than 1,000 chapters in the United States, Canada, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, NJCL is the largest Classical organization in the world today. Both NJCL and its Oklahoma chapter (OKJCL) host annual events that allow students with many different backgrounds to come together and engage in fellowship and fun activities, including competitions, over a love of the classics.

BMCHS chapter of JCL has monthly meetings and is open to all students, including non-Latin students, for a small annual dues payment.

The McGuinness Engineering and Science Society is organized to provide students with additional opportunities for scientific investigation and research, and exposure to lecture, films, and field trips to scientific centers.

The Cum Laude chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) recognizes those exemplary students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, and community service. Membership is open to qualified sophomores, juniors, and seniors (during the first quarter of their senior year). Invitations for application will be given to students who meet academic requirements and who have not been on a disciplinary contract in the two semesters prior to application. Students are invited to apply if they have attained a 3.7 or higher cumulative GPA on the weighted scale and have completed the Christian Service hour requirements for their grade level by time of application. The NHS Faculty Council determines selection based upon applications and faculty/administration recommendations in the areas of leadership and character. Members who fail to demonstrate the minimum membership criteria or adherence to the guiding principles of NHS are subject to probation or dismissal as determined by the NHS Faculty Council. If, while a member of NHS, one should be placed on disciplinary contract, he/she will automatically lose the privilege of wearing an NHS stole at graduation and possibly their NHS membership. As with the Red Cord for 300 Christian Service hours, the NHS stole signifies completion of required meeting and service hours before May of graduation.

This organization recognizes students who have shown achievement in the study of Spanish. Members must maintain an 89% or better average for three consecutive semesters. The BMCHS chapter is named “El Cordobes.”

The BMCHS chapter of the National Speech and Debate Association provides opportunities for students to compete in various speaking, acting, and debate events that will help facilitate development in their critical thinking and public speaking skills. The league chapter participates in OSSAA sanctioned tournaments at the local, regional, and state levels as well as various tournaments on the national circuit. In addition each year the Irish Forensic Speech and Debate team hosts a speech festival for all BMCHS feeder school speech and drama programs.

The Peru Mission Trip takes place over the summer and is available to BMCHS students who want
to experience a week-long, hands-on service opportunity at the Santisimo Sacramento Parish in
Piura, Peru. The mission team, which is composed of students from BMCHS, teacher mentors, and
adult chaperones, will meet beginning in October to prepare for the trip. Payment of a $100
nonrefundable deposit will be required in September. Trip cost will vary based on the airline ticket
cost. Need-based scholarships are available for participants in our work grant program.

Pictures of the Mind is a student-led, teacher-facilitated organization that is dedicated to taking
each student’s God-given creativity and honing it through written practice and application in an
effort to improve individual voice and skill as student members strive to move themselves and
their art towards the top.

Members of the Young Politicis Club work to develop an awareness and understanding of the issues that relate to active participation in our political system.

Robotics is a comprehensive club delving into the fundamentals of robotics through engineering and programming. Our club also works to develop team building skills through teaching students to work with each other on collaborative club projects . Throughout this year, we plan on competing in local and potentially state robotics competitions with other robotics clubs in our area.

The Spanish Club offers Spanish students an exciting year full of fiestas and a taste of Spanish cuisine. Its purpose is to offer its members adventures in Spanish culture outside of the classroom and a chance to make new amigos.

The Student Council is a student government which acts as a representative for student voice on all matters curricular and extracurricular at BMCHS. Members of Student Council gain experience working with different members of the school community, including their peers, faculty and staff members, as well as with external community organizations. The purpose of Student Council is to promote student initiatives that will positively influence school culture. The Council’s composition includes an executive board of nine Student Council officers, and a general board comprised of the executive board, all class officers and senators. Student Council hosts a variety of school-wide events each year which include the Canned Food Drive, Feeder Leader Day, and Olympics week. Students interested in joining Student Council should attend an informational meeting at the end of March and participate in elections at the beginning of April.

The mission of the Venturing Crew is to get students outdoors. We organize day hikes and outings and overnight camping trips. We welcome all levels of skill and experience, from first-time campers/hikers to Eagle Scouts. Past trips around Oklahoma include Turner Falls, Robbers Cave, Alabaster Caverns, Gloss Mountain, Roman Nose, Stinchcombe wildlife Refuge, Wichita Wildlife Refuge, Martin Nature Park, and the Illinois River. 

We are not affiliated with BSA. 

We try to plan 1 event each month,  even if it’s a picnic or kayaking.

We try to have at least 1 overnight camping trip per semester.

Women in Science is a club for McGuinness ladies interested in learning more about careers and insight into the science field. Members will enjoy guest lectures from women in various science careers to learn about their personal experiences as females in a male-dominated industry, resulting in a sense of community and empowerment. Previous speakers have included a meteorologist, a urological surgeon, and a marine biologist researching Oklahoma waterways.
